That being said, over the course of the game, Jason does grow into a stronger and more inspirational leader, and he learns how to project himself more, resulting in people sharing in his sense of strength and calm. When it comes to tasks like giving speeches, Jason tends not to do well, and while he can remain level-headed in a crisis, his fumbling and awkwardness aren’t exactly admirable. He tries to encourage people by caring for them, listening to them, and reassuring them when they need it, and while this has some effect, it doesn’t really inspire his squad so much as it makes them like him.
